FAICO and INCOPESCA sign cooperation agreement

This Monday, April 4, 2022, a Framework Cooperation Agreement between Friends of Cocos Island Foundation (FAICO) and the Costa Rican Institute of Fisheries and Aquaculture (INCOPESCA) was signed in Puntarenas. The agreement was signed by Mr. Daniel Carrasco Sánchez, Executive President of INCOPESCA, and Mr. Carlos Manuel Uribe Sáenz, Chairman of the Administrative Board of FAICO.

The objective of this agreement is to establish collaborative relationships between FAICO and INCOPESCA, as an opportunity to address the challenges of conservation and sustainable use of marine resources of the Pacific Ocean of Costa Rica.

FAICO hopes that this agreement will serve to complement the very important work carried out by the Cocos Marine Conservation Area, in favor of the conservation of ecosystem services of Cocos Island and its adjacent ecosystems, which are essential for well-being and for the economy.
