Natural and cultural resources

This thematic area promotes the generation of information about the state of marine and terrestrial biodiversity that protects the Park, and, in turn, provide inputs to decision-makers that allow them to check whether the conservation objectives for which the Park was established are being fulfilled.

In this thematic area, activities are developed aimed at deepening the scientific knowledge about the processes and situation of natural resources present in the Park, for example, the health of ecosystems, of endangered species, of species subject to illegal fishing, and of critical habitats.

One of the most important and priority functions of this thematic area of work is to develop control activities and effective management of species introduced in the Park, as well as to determine the negative impacts in both terrestrial and marine ecosystems.
